PITTSBURG — A new shoe store is in town.
Shoe Sensation relocated from Fort Scott to its new location at 2808 N. Broadway in Pittsburg.
The high-traffic location with high visibility attracted the company to Pittsburg, Vice President of Real Estate Bob Thomson said.
On Friday, the store hosted a ribbon cutting and on Saturday, a grand opening. The store opened on Nov. 5.
“This is a great opportunity for a community to have another exclusive shoe store,” Manager in Training Dana Turner said. “We have all the great name brands everyone loves.”
Shoe Sensation opened its first store in 1984 and has over 149 stores in 18 states. Its corporate offices are headquartered in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The store sells “national brands” and according to Thomson, they are looking to connect with the community.
“What we are looking for is hometown American shopping,” Thomson said. “We pride ourselves in service and connecting with the community.”
One of its philanthropic efforts is its annual annual “Socks for Troops” fundraiser, which is currently ongoing. People can purchase military approved socks to donate to the military  and local veterans.
Shoe Sensation’s hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
